In Figure 1.3 the author asks, "What Technologies Will Have the Greatest Impact on Teaching and Learning in the Next Five Years." (Maloy, 2013,p.13) In my opinion video conferencing will continue to be a great impact on learning and teaching. I believe this because video conferencing is a way to communicate with people worldwide through video. Even in our world today, people hold job interviews through programs such as Skype and ooVoo. In the future teachers will be able to teach students through these types of programs. I also believe that digital media will still make an impact on teaching and learning in the future. Today many people use YouTube as a way to learn new music, new dances and even learn what is trending on a daily basis. In the future, people will use YouTube as a way to teach subjects such as math, reading, and science. Instead of children falling behind in class, they will have the opportunity to learn multiple subjects on YouTube. In the following video, you will see people communicating via Skype.

Digital Identity refers to your technology talents and competencies. (Maloy, 2013, p.15) It is important to have a digital identity because others can see that you are up to date when it comes to technology. Learning all new forms of technology will allow others to see your digital identity growth. As a future teacher having a digital identity will enable me to be on top of all technology. Students will be eager to learn because all my lessons will be creative. Pupils will not have to do every assignment on paper; students will be able to do work on iPad's and laptops. Instead of presenting projects in front of the class, students will be able to make video's using all types of digital devices. Technology will help students learn in the future; the following study shows how students believe technology will impact their futures.  New Study Reveals U.S. Students Believe Tablets Are Game Changers in Learning and Student Engagement

It is crucial for students to learn how to use various forms of technology. Technology will continue to be critical in the future. Today many schools take a test through a computer, If a student cannot use a computer then they will not know how to take a test online. In the future, I hope to show my students how important technology is. In my future classroom, I would want students to communicate with one another via email and Skype to discuss what they have learned in class. As a future teacher, I would like to incorporate weekly discussion post so I can see what my students are learning. 

Every day is a day for us to learn as teachers. In the future, technology will continue to change the lives of children. It is my job as a future educator to teach children the various uses of digital technology. Instead of a student doing a writing assignment by hand, they will be able to use Microsoft Word to complete the task.
